Complete and Partial Dentures

Dentures are removable appliances which replace missing teeth and help to restore your smile.

Partial dentures attach to natural teeth and replace a few missing teeth while complete dentures restore a full arch of missing teeth. Denture teeth are custom selected so that the color, size and shape of the teeth provides the most natural appearance possible. Partial dentures use natural teeth in order to stay  in place and generally have pink acrylic which rests on the gums tissue for support. Modifications may need to made to the natural teeth to allow for clasps and other parts. A thorough evaluation of the natural teeth should take place prior to fabrication of a partial in order to ensure supporting teeth are healthy.

Complete dentures make eating and speaking easier and fill out the lips compared to patients with no teeth. Many patients feel that dentures make them look younger and provide a more natural appearance. They can be used in conjunction with dental implants in order to provide the best possible retention.
