A dental implant is the most reliable, aesthetic and comfortable tooth replacement for many people. Dental implants can be used to replace a single tooth or multiple teeth. Once placed, the implant cannot be removed by the patient and closely resembles a natural tooth. The predicted lifespan exceeds that of a removable appliance and even a bridge! Implants can also be used to support a denture.
Implants used to replace missing teeth involve two main components, the titanium implant, which is surgically placed into the bone and the implant crown, which resembles a tooth. One of our partnering periodontists or oral surgeons in the area will place the titanium implant or implants and following a period of healing, we restore the implant with the missing tooth or teeth.
Implants used to support a denture can greatly improve the retention and comfort of a traditional denture and are placed into the bone in two-to-four specific sites. Precision Dental will work in conjunction with a partnering periodontist or oral surgeon in the area to have the implants placed and a new denture fabricated. In some cases, an existing denture can be used instead!
